This week finds us going from Asheville (Beer City) to the Queen City, aka Charlotte, NC. I headed to NoDa Brewing Company, which not only boasts a gorgeous taproom, but one hell of an impressive brewing facility. (I never stop loving getting a Wizard of Oz behind the curtain look.) There I sat down with Rachael Cardwell, a brewer at NoDa, and we talked about her beer career–and she has traveled pretty extensively to get that experience–and of course, as a future recurring theme on the Harpy Hour Southeastern Beer Tour, the odd little booze laws that the South tends to have, and how it affects craft brewers all over North Carolina. I had a blast talking with Rachael as well as getting to sample beautiful beers. You can find pics of NoDa on the HH Instagram feed, if you’re curious about the brewery. But first: go listen!
An additional special Charlotte shout-out to delectable beers quaffed at Wooden Robot and Sycamore Brewing. Come back next Monday when we’re headed to Charleston to talk with Jaime Tenney of Coast Brewing Company!
