Brrrr! I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but here in Kingston, it’s quite cold and quite windy. Days like this, I can well imagine why some Canadians become snowbirds.
Today’s episode features the owner of possibly one of the coolest, if not the coolest, bottle shops I’ve ever seen. It’s called Beer Girl Growler & Bottleshop; it’s located just a wee bit south of Atlanta in Hapeville (if you’re familiar with the ATL, a good way to put it would be that it’s out near the airport). Regardless of where you are in the Atlanta metro area, or where you are anywhere, it’s well worth a visit to peruse their gorgeous ever-changing tap list as well as their prodigious bottle selection. Heck, they even have wine and sake, if that’s what you fancy. Alexia Ryan, the owner and beer connoisseur, sat down with me over a beer at the shop to talk about how Beer Girl came to be and some of the challenges one can face upon occasion.
There are a few pictures of Beer Girl on the Harpy Hour Instagram feed and I think I did a short video too. (In fact, I’ll repost it just so it’s more recent!) You can find episodes of Harpy Hour on iTunes and Stitcher; if you left a review and rating, well, frankly, you’d be a rock star. Harpy Hour is also on Twitter and Facebook. Come say hi!
There will be mini-episodes reviewing the massive European Advent Calendar released every Wednesday (and I am now re-christening it the Winter Beer Calendar), so check those out!
And hey, are you in the Eastern Ontario/Kingston area? Then come on out to the Alibi for the first all-ladies beer event on January 22nd! I’ll be there so be sure to introduce yourself! See you next week!
